Head of Beige
They gave me a plaque when I left. I was touched by it. I put it on a shelf.
The story
Positioning Ghostwriter. I won’t write a word until you can stand behind it. Then I write until you’re known for it.
I spent 25 years as a copywriter. 19 of them were inside one company. On the way out they handed me a leaving plaque, and that is what it said.
It took me a while to work out what it meant. The answer is the reason The Ghost exists.
Nobody sets out to sound like nobody. They are simply rewarded for it, early and often, until they start doing it to themselves without being asked. At 14 somebody with a red pen taught them to write for a marker instead of a reader. I did the same thing to myself for 3 years before I noticed. I’d like them back.
My work now sits where thinking, authority, language and commercial usefulness meet. I am not here to inflate your expertise or manufacture a louder version of you. I bring structure, challenge, synthesis and a well-developed intolerance for language that sounds correct but says nothing. You bring the experience, judgement and occasionally inconvenient truth.
1 studio. 1 Ghostwriter. A very select few. Full attention.
Part of my work is white label and will never appear here, which is the point of hiring a ghost.
The rules
What I won’t do
- Claim your revenue as my result. The revenue is yours and I don’t claim it.
- Publish your name if you’d rather I didn’t. Ghosted means ghosted. NDA on request, always.
- Ship something that doesn’t sound like you. Rewrites are the work, not an extra.
- Post on your behalf without your yes. Nothing goes out unseen.
- Hand you to somebody else. There is nobody else.
- Sell you volume. Volume without a position is noise.

1 call. 20 minutes.
No deck. No questionnaire. Nothing to prepare. If it’s a no, you still leave knowing what you should be known for.
